Festina, the cyclist s watch, has finally come to America. Festina is the official timekeeper of the Tour de France and the Giro d Italia, and owner of the Festina Pro Cycling Team, which won the Tour de France in 1994 and 1996, and was ranked second in the world in 1997. Festina watches are now available in the United States, and the brand is already on the fast track with racing events.
Festina is among the fastest growing watch lines in Europe, and is the best selling watch in its country of origin, Spain. It didn t start out in Spain, though. The company was founded in Switzerland in 1902, and has continued to be one of the best selling mid-priced watches in Europe. The watches generally feature Japanese quartz movements, and a few special features, such as the Mecaquartz movement, which is a no-battery automatic quartz movement. In addition, a large percentage of Festina s offerings are sports chronographs including the Internationally advertised Road Warrior series of chronographs.
